We are happy to announce our second annual Food For Thought Conference is being held on November 30-December 1 of this year. This is a two-day conference created for producers, market managers and others in the sustainable agriculture community to empower and equip them with the tools and skills needed to optimize your agricultural business. In efforts to bring attention to the conference, we would like to introduce this years conference coordinator, Laurie Wakefield. Laurie is a marketing communications and public relations consultant as well as a long-time grower. When she’s not at her desk, you can usually find her in the garden. She is passionate about growing and preparing healthy food, teaching and encouraging others to grow their own food, to eat well, support local producers and buy local. In 2016, she decided to apply her 30-years of experience and professional communication skills to these subjects and launched GardenZeal.com. In addition to articles about her own crops and experience, Laurie blogs and posts in social media about Farmers Markets and the communities they serve. She attended the 2016 Food for Thought Conference, conducted video interviews of speakers and attendees, and published them in this blog article. Like those she interviewed and featured in these videos, Laurie was truly inspired by the conference last year. She is delighted to be the coordinator for the 2017 Food for Thought Conference.
